Creative Arts
Students at St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School are able to demonstrate their creativity in a variety of visual art projects. Our students in PK3-8th grade have an art class weekly. Our students also do a variety of creative arts projects with their homeroom teachers.
Students work on artistic projects that develop important skills that will serve our children in their futures. These skills include, but are not limited to; thinking creatively, development of important fine motor skills, and development of visual-spatial skills Children improve their self confidence, decision making, and critical thinking skills as they create art. Finally, participation in creative arts calls upon our students to persevere and focus while working collaboratively with others.

Dramatic Arts are incorporated into the core curriculum in many ways and our school also partners with Lucky Star Productions to stage a musical, complete with sets, sound system, lighting and professional costumes. Throughout the year, our students have many opportunities to demonstrate performance arts as they portray their Confirmation Saints or famous historical figures, or as they dramatize some of the most important parts of our Catholic faith by acting out the Last Supper and presenting a shadow play of the Stations of the Cross. The Drama Club musical production is extraordinary, and plays performed in the past have included favorites like The Music Man and Peterpan.
